STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

- Carter, HFCA, Senior

A pivotal moment for me was a school trip to North Carolina. While it wasn’t my first choice for college, we visited institutions with strong athletic programs, where I learned about players who came from humble beginnings and achieved success. Their stories inspired me and showed me that I could do the same.

- Kyleigh, HFCA, Senior

HFCA gave me the opportunities I needed to step outside my comfort zone and grow as a person. One of my proudest moments was traveling to Texas to present alongside Dr. Howard Fuller as one of four students sharing insights about the school’s benefits. Being part of the mural at HFCA was another milestone that made me feel seen and valued.

The Gifts That Last Beyond the Holidays

The Gifts That Last Beyond the Holidays

This holiday season, HFCA scholars learned that some of the most meaningful gifts don’t come with wrapping paper.

Middle school students helped wrap gifts for families across the community, while high school students delivered holiday cookies and heartfelt thank-yous to organizations that have supported HFCA throughout the year.

These experiences teach our scholars that excellence lives in service, relationships, and giving back. They are the kinds of gifts that last far beyond the holiday season.

100% College Acceptance Rate since 2012

Members of the graduating Class of 2023 have been accepted into over 250 colleges and universities.

Character, Achievement, College

This year, 23% of our students earned college credit through early college opportunities with our partners at UWM, MATC, and Gateway.

A transformational moment

Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy is in a growth phase, with scholars enrolling from across the city to join our college-prep, personalized learning environment. Our growing student population has demonstrated that the goal of 450 scholars is achievable however our current facility is inadequate for our programming including our Early College Program and our technology, education, health care, and business Career Pathways

who we are

Founded in 2004, Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy is a tuition-free, non-profit, public charter middle school and high school open to all students in the City of Milwaukee. We serve over 600 scholars, most of whom reside on the north side of Milwaukee, receive free and reduced lunch, and will be the first in their families to attend college when they attend.

Our mission is to send our scholars to and through college and we engage them in a vibrant culture of mentoring, challenging academics, and early college experiences. From day one every scholar is engaged in college and career exploration that culminates in apprenticeships and early workplace opportunities. This year, 23% of eligible students earned college credit through dual enrollment opportunities at our partner schools — UWM, MATC, WCTC, Gateway and Herzing.

Our college-going culture gets results: 100% of our graduates have been accepted into college since 2012. We do more than prepare our scholars for higher education. We believe in and support our scholars’ college aspirations and, through our familial environment, nurture within them the tools each needs to persist through any obstacles.
