Dear HFCA Supporters,

Walter comes from a true HFCA legacy family. With two older sisters who graduated from Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, it was only natural that Walter would want to follow in their footsteps. “Their positive experiences and stories made me want to be part of the HFCA community as well,” he says.

Now a sophomore, Walter has already made his own mark. His favorite class is English, where he enjoys reading and expressing himself through writing. But it’s been his relationship with Mr. Thompson that has made a major difference. “He’s been incredibly supportive, giving me business advice and helping me think through my future career. I’m really grateful to have a teacher like him.”

One of Walter’s proudest moments at HFCA came when he was selected as one of nine students to fly to Nashville, Tennessee, to record a song. “It was an unforgettable opportunity and showed me how far my hard work could take me,” Walter reflects.

Beyond the recording studio, Walter has grown personally through his involvement in robotics. “It pushed me to step up, speak in groups, offer help to others, and encourage my teammates. It helped me become more confident and a more positive, uplifting person.”

Walter plans to pursue a career in automation engineering after high school. He’s fascinated by how buildings function and wants to be the person who ensures everything runs efficiently. While he is still exploring colleges, he knows HFCA has given him a strong foundation to succeed.

For any student considering HFCA, Walter offers simple advice: “Go for it! HFCA is a great experience. You’ll get the support you need not only in high school but also in preparing for college and beyond. This school is truly focused on helping you succeed.”

Outside of class, you might find Walter working to save for his college fund, grabbing a bite at Shake Shack, or imagining what life would be like with the power of thought transference. “I’d love to understand how people think and feel, and help influence their decisions in a positive way.”

To the donors who make these experiences possible, Walter says, “Thank you. Your support has given me opportunities and experiences I wouldn’t have had anywhere else in Milwaukee. Because of you, I feel better prepared for college and my future career.”

Walter’s story is one more example of how HFCA’s mission is shaping confident, driven students ready to step into bright futures.

Thank you,

The HFCA Team
