Construction Update: November 17, 2023

The construction site buzzed with activity this week! Concrete pouring and steelwork are in full swing, adding strength to our future school. The new high school facility will soon be a vibrant home for up to 500 scholars!

Scholars from Ms. Miller’s science class embarked on a fascinating journey to the Schlitz Audubon Center and Jones Island Water Reclamation Plant! Discovering the wonders of wastewater treatment, they explored the process of cleaning and returning wastewater to Lake Michigan.

Friday brought together 2018 alums and founding members of the student-led Technology Ambassador Program Demetry Freeman and Alexander Bates, alongside 2020’s Nazir Ali and 2023’s Jahmari Hill and Jack Ross! A mini-reunion for three “generations” of Technology Ambassadors. Did you know that Mr. Freeman and Mr. Ali are now part of the school team! Mr. Freemen supports our scholars in special education and Mr. Ali is our IT Help Desk Manager.
