Dear HFCA Supporters,

Darcel graduated from Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy with a vision for the future and a love for storytelling that began in his favorite class, Creative Writing. “I was able to write to my heart’s content,” he shared. “The projects and assignments helped me tell stories in my own words. That meant everything.”

A proud alum, Darcel recalls the energy of watching HFCA’s basketball team for the first time and the joy he felt simply being part of the school community. “HFCA helped grow me into a person who’s able to express myself,” he said. “It transformed my world into something I never thought possible.”

That transformation is still unfolding. Darcel plans to attend the College of St. Scholastica and pursue a career in archaeology. “I’ve always wanted to travel and see new things,” he said. “I want to change the world one day, so that’s what I’m going to do.”

For future HFCA students, Darcel has this advice: “Prepare to work hard and prepare to take on a new life with new people, places, and experiences.”

To the donors who helped make his HFCA journey possible, Darcel offered a heartfelt thank you: “If it wasn’t for your help, I wouldn’t be here today. Continue to support our school, so we can continue to beat the odds.”

We are proud to spotlight Darcel’s story as a reflection of the brilliance within our HFCA community. His journey is just beginning, and we cannot wait to see where it leads.
