Dear HFCA Supporters,

Meet Anyia Turner, a bright and compassionate 9th grader who joined us this year from our friends at Milwaukee College Prep. From the very start, she noticed something special about HFCA.

“Everybody is nice and kind,” she said. “People came together and helped each other.”

That sense of community had a profound impact on her. It’s exactly what she was looking for as she starts this exciting new chapter of high school.

Anyia has big dreams.

She plans to go to an HBCU and pursue a career in healthcare as a nurse or doctor. Seeing other HFCA students and alumni succeed has been a powerful motivation.

“It shows me that I can do the same thing they could do.”

What stands out most to her are the teachers.

“They’re like buddies with the students,” she said. “Kind and understanding.”

Outside of class, Anyia’s love for cheer has been a big part of her life. She took a break during middle school, but now she’s ready to jump back in.

If she could have any superpower, she’d choose invisibility. But at HFCA, Anyia shines in a way that’s impossible to miss.

We’re proud to walk alongside her as she begins her high school journey with confidence, kindness, and curiosity.
