Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy scholars
selected for prestigious All-In Milwaukee program

Five scholars from Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy were accepted into the prestigious All-In Milwaukee program, which provided financial aid, customized advising, and career readiness to help limited-income students complete college and transform the Milwaukee community.

Janiyah Carr, Jahmari Hill, Alyssia McKinley, Danijsha Thompson-Crosby, and Jack Ross were all selected for the program and announced their college choice at HFCA’s annual Decision Day on May 5.

“I was incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and hard work in achieving acceptance into All-In Milwaukee,” said Principal Judith Parker. “This program undoubtedly provided them with valuable opportunities to further their academic and personal growth, and I had no doubt that they would represent Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy with excellence.”

Jack Ross was eager to begin the next chapter of his journey towards earning his college degree. “Being an All-In Milwaukee scholar helps me because it provides financial support and more comprehensive assistance throughout college.”

Jack and his family were grateful for the support the program provided, recognizing the significant impact it would have on their lives. For Jack, All-In Milwaukee was the tangible result of his hard work and dedication.

“All-In Milwaukee made me feel like my hard work had paid off,” he said.

Jack’s involvement as a Technology Ambassador at HFCA led to an interest in digital marketing and graphic design. He pursued early college coursework at Milwaukee Area Technical College to begin working toward that career while still in high school. Jack successfully completed 12 early college credits through HFCA’s Dual Enrollment Program and said he was leaning toward exploring Civil Engineering in college.

“Jack was a dependable and compassionate young man, ready to take the next step toward earning his college degree,” said Courtney Charters, Dual Enrollment Coordinator.

“I just know I feel good about it. It is an amazing opportunity,” said Danijsha Thompson-Crosby. “I am grateful to All-In Milwaukee for this, and I am also grateful to my mentors Ms. Cole, Ms. Charters, and Ms. Cohen. Their support meant a lot to me.”

“I loved helping people and I wanted to learn more about healthcare,” Danijsha said. “I was interested in becoming a traveling nurse when I graduated from college.”

Giving back to the community was also important to Danijsha. “I wanted to help the community by serving people who didn’t have easy access to healthcare.”

These five scholars, along with over 50 other seniors, announced their college choices at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy’s annual College Decision Day on May 5. The event celebrated the hard work and achievements of the Class of 2023 as they made their decisions about which colleges and universities they planned to attend that fall.

So far this year, the Class of 2023 had been accepted into a combined total of 238 colleges and universities from across the country. We were proud to announce that they had earned over $2 million in scholarship dollars, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Our college-going culture got results: 100% of our graduates had been accepted into college since 2012.
